Pete`s Place in Oakhurst

Came to this diner for lunch after it was recommended to me. Had the bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Great amount of food, for a great price. We had an order of the lunch and breakfast. Both was amazing. Highly recommend if you're in town.

Great little, unassuming diner style eatery where you order at the counter, take a table number and they bring the food lickety-split! Lara and Jessie were very helpful and funny as all get out! The falafel was spectacular. My chili cheese omelet was ginormous and yummy. The prices were good for the large portions. We will definitely eat here again!

They serve big dishes and for convenient pricing. kind owner. Keep it up.

The Pete's Best burger is one of our favorites and we can't go here without eating zucchini sticks! You must try the zucchini sticks! My Mom travels from Fresno every so often (40 miles each way) for those zucchini sticks and the amazing burgers. The service is always friendly and enjoyable. Seriously try this place if you are on vacation or if you are a local.

There are complaints about the price, but consider the costs to keep the doors open to a good restaurant. The food is Great!! The staff is very friendly! You can choose cheaper places but you get what you pay for. I've never been unhappy with the food here and they've been here for a long time. That speaks volumes for restaurants in Oakhurst. We've seen many come and go. I will support a place that feeds me well like Pete's Place and Pop's which is re-opening again soon I hear.

Always fast with tons of food, fair priced, delicious homemade zucchini fries, with old fashioned ranch dip. Absolutely wonderful, 1 meal can feed 2 people easy, just get 2 drinks. My favorite of fast foods in Oakhurst. Faster service than McDonald's and cooked to order. Truly Amazing!!!!!!

Went for lunch clean up crew. For NWM. The burgers r gooood. The servings are too much food so I just get a burger and a drink. Tried out the bacon cheese burger.

The gyros are excellent, and you must get the deep-fried zucchini. Order at the counter, then get served at your table. Service is very fast and friendly. Don't expect McDonald's prices. Do expect great food served quickly.

Not to bad for a quick bite. Looks like the locals love it. Only thing I dislike is there menu for drive up.

Pete's Place has delicious food in large quantities! You will not leave here hungry. Well known for their "more-than-one-meal" breakfast burritos and their zucchini fries and ranch dressing. I make it a point to stop here before heading into Yosemite National Park.

A little over priced but still good

The food is at best, mediocre. My biggest problem with this place was their lack of cleanliness. I literally watched each of the cooks grab raw meat with their bare hands. Then without washing grab a handful of salad mixture, again with their bare hands to prepare a salad for a customer. I will not be returning!!

Chicken fried steak was delicious! The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because it's expensive to eat there. However the food is good and the staff is very cordial.

'Mom and Pop' style food place. You have to get Pete's best and some fries! Such a big burger and totally worth the prices that they have! If you're in the area or traveling up to Yosemite this is a great spot to stop and grab a burger!

Before heading into Yosemite Park, we stopped for breakfast here. Wow, was I impressed at how helpful, and friendly everyone was. The food portions are huge and the food is fresh and excellent. The pricing is perfect and you get food that is fresh cooked, quality food, excellent service, and a great enjoyable atmosphere that allows you to sit and enjoy your meal with your family. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I think we didn't choose the best foods, we selected gyro and falafel. But they were not that good unfortunately. Gyro was acceptable, but falafel was a chore to eat. I normally like sauce on gyros but not this time and there was too much tomato in the sandwitch.Tastewise aside, the food was serve hot, the staff were friendly, food was made ready fast. Overall I guess probably other dishes are much better based on the ranking it has.Btw, I don't know why they write their name in greek font when they serve almost all american dishes.

Entire staff refuses to wear face masks which was incredibly disappointing. Been coming here my whole life but I won't be coming back to a business that is in clear health code violation and displays a disregard for the welfare of the mountain community.

It was fine, although they have very few Greek options for being called a Greek restaurant. Went with some others and they all said the burgers & pastrami were great - so I would stick to the normal fast food faire if you go here. Personally I had the Gyro Pita which was... fine. The meat itself was good, but the sauce wasn't the greatest, nor were the bell peppers and onions they slapped into it. Also, fries and sides are not included. Menu prices seem fine until you add these, then it's a bit overpriced.Masks apparently were not required by the staff, as no one was wearing them behind the counter. They also let a customer I guess was related to someone working there? Behind the counter while people were working - also no mask.I wouldn't go back.

I wish the Fresno area had more places like this. Great food at great prices

Great pastrami sandwich! When you get a sandwich you should always have more meat than bread. You need an appetite it's a lot.. highly recommend it

Very very very terrible idea to go here, I didn't like the fact that they cooked this bacon and set it on top of the cooking area. The food is seriously overpriced in this establishment. And the cooks fix food bare handed no gloves, wipe their hands on their jeans and keep going. The food didn't even taste good.

Every time I come home I have to stop in my favorite child hood memory. I am glad to see it the same I would be devastated if it ever changed!!!

A great spot! Good selection and value. Plus our food was out quickly even when the place was busy.

A very comfortable restaurant, order at the counter or even via the drive through. Beyond that, the food is really well prepared and the waitresses are very attentive without being pushy. Portions rival those at black Bear diner. Gravy over the biscuits was world class. Huge omlets and the burgers are cooked perfectly to order. A side order of French fries should be called a mountain of fries.

This place is adversited as Greek but really it's an American menu. The food is served very fast and the portions are massive! The quality is not the best and it's mostly fried. Avoid this if you are a tourist but if you like fried food then this place is for you!

Stopped here for breakfast on our way south out of Yosemite. It doesn't look like much from the outside, or even really the inside, but my breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. Just piled high with bacon and perfectly made. And everything came out so quickly! Very efficient and very good.

I'm reviewing Pete's as a breakfast diner, which is all I've eaten there. Very friendly and helpful breakfast staff at the counter. I felt that the omelette choices were limited, but my cheese omelette with generous avocado was perfectly cooked. Omelettes are large - 5 eggs - and with potatoes and toast, all tasty - was good to feed both of us - also at nearly the cost of 2 breakfasts at Denny's! ( not in the last town before Yosemite, though )You order at the counter and then food is brought to your table. The decor is plain and clean, with (duh) Greek wall art instead of the beautiful Sierras. I like that breakfast is served until noon.

The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. We drove an hour just to eat there. We went up to Yosemite mountain railroad, drove around and then on the way home, we ate there again and had the Gyros. A meal that is very filling. The onion rings are a bomb.

The only place you can get a real Club Sandwich with layers! And it's AMAZING!

Don't be fooled. This isn't really a Greek place. It has mostly American food like (expensive) omelettes and burgers. The only Greek option is gyro wraps.

Got the colossal burger with extra bacon because I have no fear of death. It was an awesome stack of meaty goodness to make Ron Swanson proud. Would recommend for cheat meals before heading into Yosemite to burn some calories

Good burgers! The omelettes look great too but I have not had one yet.

Best breakfast in Oakhurst. They're especially good with great avocados and thick crispy bacon. Large portions are best shared. An order of fries is more than a meal in itself.

If this is the place I saw on channel 30 news on March 26th 2020 the gentleman making the sandwich was Not wearing gloves and touching the food. Need to wear gloves
